The Old Days.

This is my collection of photos of past projects. I know some of these scratch builds are fairly basic, but you have to start simple to later work your way to more advanced projects. You can see from these images that my techniques and building procedures have changed throughout the years. We all have to start somehwere, so this is where it all started for me.

Scratch Built Ork Killa Kan (2009)

This is my first ever scratch built Killa Kan that I built in 2009. I tried to design the scratch built model as close to the actual model as possible; with all the weapon layouts and such to match the Killa Kan rules from the Ork Codex. I used Plasticard and various model pieces out of my bits box to put together this mean looking contraption.

Scratch Built Ork Gargant/Stompa (2009)

Sadly, I lost the building phase photos of this monstrosity, but I managed to hold onto the photos of it during my first attempt at painting. I made the main body out of a plastic bottle, and as the model progressed I added Plasticard scrap to the outside in layers to give it the effect that it was cruedly thrown together by an Ork Big Mek.

My First Scratch Built Ork Deff Dread (2010)

The Ork Deff Dread. This Scratch Build was made as a copy of the old Games Workshop Ork Deff Dread. Although it looks to be fairly close to the original model, it is actually slightly taller than the one made from metal. By this time on my building career i think my scratch builds have gotten increasingly better than the ones from the previous years. The model is mainly Plasticard, with a few parts taken from the left overs of some of my kits.

Converted/Scratch Built Ork Battlewagon (2010)

This bonecrunching Battlewagon is fitted to the last millimetre of space with Orky goodness. Every face of this rolling death machine has at least one gun aiming to a table edge or a corner when it's right in the middle of battle. It has been converted out of an old Imperial Guard Leman Russ Battle tank, an abundance of Plasticard and the odd Ork gun or Gliph every so often. If you're ever going to be scared of something when you play against Orks, it will definately be one of these.
